your opinion on offering drawings/paintings/images of Prince...

I like to draw and to paint but I've neglected that part of myself for years. When Prince died, I made some drawings of him, and have thought since about doing more of that and considered offering some of what I've done for sale. In the back of my mind, I wonder if it's invasion of privacy, or exploitation of his image, or what's the term? I'm not a professional artist. It would just be a few drawings or paintings. If you have an opinion, please share.

It doesnt come from a place of profit or personal gain in fact quite the opposite- go for it

I can't see any harm in it. Why not post some pics on here?
 
I'd love for my opinion to be splattered all over offering drawings/paintings/images of Prince.

another sketch... not finished but I'm not going back to it. I painted on paper that wasn't meant to be painted on, so there're wrinkles. Maybe his head is too big? and there's something about the hips that doesn't catch the action the way I wanted. One thing that surprises me every time I watch videos: Prince never, ever stopped moving.
hey, solssta2: I don't mind opinion, if it's constructive criticism... so splatter away... could be an interesting effect.

I love it! I cannot draw worth a darn. My kids can though! I have always wanted to be able to draw, and since I'm an artistic learning thingy (first photography, now acrylic pours and jewelry), maybe I'll try my hand at it again. I've only tried to draw Prince twice. Here are my 1st and 2nd only attempts. (Don't laugh!) lol Okay, you can laugh if you want to, but at the least, you can make out who it is, maybe?

I like both of them. If you've ever taken a figure drawing class, often, they start with very quick poses... 5 seconds,15 seconds, then maybe 30 s, 1 m. It's really interesting what comes out of those exercises because they often capture things that longer, studied drawings lose, or maybe never had. Both of these have that quality, even if you took longer to make them. Yeah. Keep going.
 
You are too kind! My daughter said that at least you can tell it's Prince. I've never taken an art class. I've been wanting to learn new things recently and I started with photography a couple of years ago and then the acrylic pours last year, and I've been teaching myself as I go. Your painting would be my goal to be able to achieve that level of artistry. You've done something beautiful there and I hope you keep it up!
