Shameless Plug For My New Radio Show!

This Friday, October 30th is the date I kick off Rock And Roll Radio With RodeoSchro! I'll be broadcasting here:

High Volume Music radio or download the High Volume Music Radio app available at any App Store and listen on your phone or other Bluetooth device.

The show will run from 4 PM - 6 PM Central Time. It'll be two hours of "Get your ass up off your seat!" rock and roll! Every single song is a fist-pumping, head-bobbing, feet-moving scorcher. And it's stuff that only a rock and roll veteran like me can dig up. There is no Spotify playlist or YouTube rabbit hole that can reproduce what we're going to play - trust me on that!

Here's a little taste of what's coming at you in Show #1:

"St. Jake" - The Del-Lords (our official Start-the-Show song and if you've never heard it, one listen will convince you there is no better song to start off a Rock and Roll Radio show!)
"Panama" - Van Halen
"I Got the Fire" - Montrose
"I Don't Wanna Go There" - Spanking Charlene
"Let's Go" - Prince's live version of The Cars' hit
"White Lies" - Jason and the Scorchers

That's 6 of the 30 songs on the playlist for Show #1. You'll also hear some Bruce Springsteen, Starz, Blue Oyster Cult, Moxy, Joan Jett and lots more just plain old kick-ass rock and roll.

Would you like to be on my Rock and Roll Radio Show? I'd be honored to have you cut a part of my drop, which is basically a collection of people introducing me and/or the show. All you have to say is something like, "This is XXXXXXX and you're listening to Rock and Roll Radio on High Volume Music Radio!" Or improvise - I'd love it! You could say, "This is XXXX and despite the fact that he paints his hair, RodeoSchro is blasting the rock from High Volume Music Radio - the Pride of Sunnyside!" I've bragged enough over the years that there's PLENTY of material, LOL.

The main things to say include; (1) your name (and you can use a screen name or nickname if you wish); (2) the name of the station, which is "High Volume Music Radio"; (3) High Volume's tag lines, which are "The Pride of Sunnyside!" (Sunnyside is a section of Houston) and/or "If it ain't High Volume, it ain't loud enough!"; and/or (4) anything else you want to say about me.

You can say as much of that - or as little of that - as you want. The drop will be played at least once per show, and probably twice. I would be absolutely honored to have you be a part if it!

You can send me an audio file through Facebook Messenger, or you can text it to me (PM me for the number), or you can email it to me at RodeoSchro@aol.com.

A little bit about High Volume Music Radio - It's the brainchild of my good buddy Anthony Frazier a/k/a Ant Boogie. You'll know this guy is cool when you learn I met him when we were both onstage singing "Play That Funky Music" with Prince. Ant Boogie is one of the finest human beings on this whole Earth. All he does is help people. His main business is providing food and shelter for homeless veterans. He also has a music venue called High Volume Music Live, which is a mini-Paisley Park and he uses it to foster up-and-coming artists. He's a giant Prince fan (his son is named after Prince), and his bands can funk it up with the best of them. Needless to say, High Volume Music Radio plays a LOT of Minneapolis Funk, as well as just about everything else. You can tune in almost any time of day or night and I promise you that you'll hear some of the best music on the planet. Plus, now you'll hear my Texas twang!

I hope you can tune in this Friday, and every Friday. I picked this time slot specifically to launch everyone into the weekend with a rock and roll smile on their face!

Thank you to those who listened! Limpy, was that you in NYC that tuned in for the whole show?

Episode #2 is this Friday and now that I'm no longer a virgin and making virgin mistakes, we'll see how if it changes anything. However, I will always keep the advice that my son gave after his first Peter Frampton concert, where his opinion was, "It could have used less word-saying and more guitar-playing".

Thanks again!

Today's show is, as the kids say, LIT AF! We've got some classics from Bad Company, Rush, Van Halen and AC/DC. And, we've got a song called "A.C.D.C" - how's that for a circular universe? Plus, we have three of the absolutely tastiest guitar solos ever recorded.

But hold the presses because we have...FRENCH ROCK AND ROLL. Yeah, I didn't have any idea either but I've discovered a French rock band that is my new favorite band in the world. I can't wait for you to hear them!

We'll be broadcasting from 4 PM - 6 PM Central Standard Time, Live From Sunnyside on High Volume Music Radio - if it ain't High Volume, it ain't loud enough! See you today (Friday) at www.highvolumemusicradio.com!

Is there any way we can listen to it if we can't make it when you go live on air?

I've tried doing this, but your show isn't listed when I click 'podcasts'. I've tried searching the podcasts and it's not there either?

I think the station owner is clearing out some old shows to post the new shows. I tried finding my show Friday morning and it was there, but then that afternoon there wasn't anything there and like you said just now, there's only a few shows there today. I'll follow up with him and make sure to post when I know my show is there. But thank you so much for looking!

And give me a request for a rock and roll song if you want. I'd be honored to play it and dedicate it to you this coming Friday!

Same goes for all my friends here at Purple and Black - let me know what you like and I'll play it in your honor!

Gosh, it's hard to choose. Any decade?

Dare I admit to not recognising any of these straight away? (obvs I recognise the bands, just not the songs. I'm sure I would if I heard them) 🙈🙈🙈. I'm going to say a few and you can choose one:

Ramones - Bozo goes to Bitburg (or any Ramones song)
Meatloaf - Paradise by the Dashboard light (or any Meatloaf song)
Adam and the Ants - Goody Two Shoes (or any Adam and the Ants song)
Anything else you choose for me if these aren't suitable.

I'll look forward to the surprise when it's out on the podcast! Thanks!

Today's show is going to melt your speakers. And I'm serious - if you listen to it through ear phones/head phones/annoying ear buds, then your very ears are at risk.. You've been warned.

ATTN. MAPLE: I forgot to say that if you like any of the bands in the list above but aren't familiar with the song I played, check out the song on YouTube or Amazon Music or at the Wrecka Stow. I think you'll like what you hear! Also, you will like what you hear today - that's a promise!

In fact, all the women in the world should listen today because the Girls Who Rock portion of the show is simply, dare I say, incredible. I searched for "Badass Songs by Women" and you are going to hear a great block of truly badass songs by women. BTW, I have a Girls Who Rock portion of every show and it's the best part of the show, IMHO.

The rumpus is from 4 PM to 6 PM Central Standard Time. I hope you can join us!

Cool! Please bug whoever you need to bug to get it on the podcast, preferably so I can listen over the weekend!

I don't know if I can handle no pun intended all the awesome radio shows and podcasts that are happening but yeah this is great and maybe I'll get it together and do one on my own been saying that for about 2 years now.

Yey, It's on there! And it's AWESOME! I've listened to just under an hour now and it's not even 7am, what a start to the day! Thank you for the dedication/song. Honestly, I've had the worst week this week, and that has cheered me up no end. I have to walk the dog now, he's staring at me intently, I'll listen to the rest when I return.

Thank y'all! I'm glad you liked it. And, uh, that little deal about playing those two girl songs with those specific titles back-to-back really was a coincidence, LOL. My wife and my Favorite Mother-In-Law got a big kick out of it.
